Stateside Seminars
As a first step to promote this project and to attract American companies to attend the proposed international trade exhibit in the Middle East, GBA is planning to organize a series of one-day seminars in thirteen U.S. cities representing regional centers of business and trade:
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Chicago, Illinois
- Cleveland, Ohio
- Detroit, Michigan
- Houston, Texas
- Indianapolis, Indiana
- Las Vegas, Nevada
- Miami, Florida
- New York, New York
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- San Francisco, California
- St. Louis, Missouri
A main objective of the business seminars is to introduce U.S. companies to the open and progressive business climate of Gulf countries. These seminars also are designed to provide American companies with a comprehensive overview of the economies, investment climate, laws, markets, international trade, and business opportunities in the Gulf Arab states in particular, and in the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in general.
The keynote speakers will consist of invited specialists in Middle East studies, law, government, and economics from the American academic, government, and private sectors, as well as experts from the Gulf countries. We anticipate holding these seminars during the five-month period from February to June, 2009.
Seminars will be held in world-class hotels in the above-mentioned cities. We expect about 100 businessmen to attend each seminar. Each seminar will last a full business day. Breakfast and lunch will be included in the seminars.
